MUJIGAE RESTO, KOREAN FOOD FUSION

I do love Korean Food!
That's why, when I meet an old friend, Rina from ITI's alumni, we looking for Korean restaurant.

Then, Rina took me to this restaurant, named Mujigae Resto. I followed her and we had a little bit argued because she wanted me try this, but I don't want it. Thank God, I finally followed her.

Before we entered the restaurant,
there is an instagram box. We can upload the pictures here, then printed it.

Well, this restaurant is so gadget friendly, because you can order the menu from the tablet. Every table has one, you can cancel or order without calling the waiters.

I ordered the Dosirak package that served with kimchi, and japchae, a Korean dish that I like. Aaw, this package also include Ice Jasmine Tea, bap ë°¥ (rice)  and fried nugget made from shrimp. The japchae is garnished with sesame seed and slivers of chili.

Japchae
The history of japchae was unique.
It was first made in the early 17th century, when the Joseon Dynasty was reigning in the Korean peninsula. They King hosted a party at his palace, and his chef was created this dish, because there's a lots of sliced beef and chili left.

Alas, the King liked it sooo much, that he rewarded his liege by promoting him to the position of hojo panseo (or secretary of the treasury!)

Japchae also made without noodles, and made with thinly shredded vegetables and mushroom. But now, they regularly make it from cellophane noodles made from sweet potato starch (dangmyeon)

Rina ordered the package with chicken, bulgogi, kimchi and fried nugget (sorry but I forgot the name >_<). So we can share the menu ...

Kimchi
Yes, we know that Kimchi is Korea's national dish. Long time ago, Kimchi was made of cabbage and beef stock only. Red chili, a new world vegetable not found in Korea, but introduced to Korea from Japan and was first documented in the 18th century.
Oh, red chili pepper flakes are now used as the main ingredient for spice and source of heat for many varieties of kimchi.
Yangnyeom tongdak, chicken marinated garnished with seed
Bulgogi

For the main course, we both liked bulgogi, ofcourse. This is the famous Korean dish, means grilled beef sliced marinated.

Bulgogi itself, made from thin slices of sirloin or other prime cuts of beef. In here, they served with a somekind of hot plate, so we can grilled by ourselves. So much fun, ah?

The marinated itself, made from garlic, pepper, sugar, soy sauce and sugar. There's also other ingredients such as scallions, ginger, onions and mushrooms. (matsutake)

Bulgogi can serve itself with bap or already mixed with it (bibimbap). In Indonesia, you can ordered kind of this bibimbap at warteg, okay... it's called Nasi Campur! LOL

The whole restaurant area is so colorful. I felt comfortable because I sat over kind of "tatami" ala ala... LOL.

Overall, this lunch at Mujigae was so much fun, enjoyable, satisfying. Oh, it's also affordable. I will going back every time ^^ and being a regular customer.
